Hi~!! Yes, I am still here.. but the Babies.. The Babies Keep me so Busy!!! I have a 10 week old, a 6 month old, and one little gal just turned 1.. They keep me so busy.. and no they are not mine.. I just borrow them during the day.. They definitely keep me running.. Anyways.. soon the wee babe will be on summer break and the others will be a little older so maybe then.. just maybe I won't be so BABY BUSY!!!!! OK.. gotta go.. I believe a diaper needs changed.. AGAIN!!!

A Package Arrived!

I have once again told my UPS man Gene that I love him... Do you blame me.. he brings the most wonderful Packages to my house. Look what he brought last week.. Just looking at the outside of the box was enough to make me declare my Love for the UPS man. Over at Mommygaga.com I entered the Big G/Hot Wheel Prize Pack.. and I was lucky enough to Win!

The outside of the box was enough to cause great excitement with the Daycare kiddos!!! OOOH!!! Whats inside???

All Kinds of Goodies.. 5 Large boxes of Big G Cereal to start.. This Made me smile.. Do you know how much Cereal these kiddos eat?

Hail Storm

We had a Hail Storm on Wednesday. It lasted probably 10 minutes.. I wasn't able to get lots of photos as I was busy getting the 7 kiddos shoes and things on just in case the Tornado Siren blew.. It didn't , but you never know. I hurried and stuck a little bucket out there to catch some of the hail.
You can't tell it from this picture.. but it was coming down pretty hard and heavy out there.

Aww finally the bucket started to get some in it..

It kept bouncing out.

Still hailing but I went out and got the bucket..

See that tiny bucket of Hail.. it provided about 10 minutes of entertainment for 5 kiddos.. They loved it!

storm door.

This is as I was finishing talking to Miss Drummond.. I reached out and touched her.. what was I thinking.. but look she is talking to me. She was just so darn nice!

I know.. you are thinking she is saying.. " Here lady take your books and get away from me"... but she wasn't! She was asking questions..

She gets herself all stocked up and ready to sign.. Her iced coffee, water, markers, she settles in for the long haul.

She is very funny. At one point she took about a 10 minute break and excused herself... to the restroom. When she came back... she took a second and said to everyone waiting... "Well now we all know where I have been don't we".. everyone laughed..

Glad that I went to Barnes and Noble and very happy to have spent a couple of minutes speaking with "The Pioneer Woman".

My sister Melanie and I got up this morning and drove 45 minutes to Barnes and Noble so I could meet Ree Drummond!!!! I love her Blog The Pioneer Woman . I have followed her blog for several years. I will say that her Blog gave me something to read each day when I was sitting with Junior and Mom when they were sick. I honestly love reading her recipes, reading about the hard work they do on their ranch, about the fun she has with her kids as she homeschools them, and about her adorable Bassett Hound Charlie!!

Ok.. time for some pictures... they are out of order.. but it was a fun day!!

We waited over 6 hours.. It was so worth it!
Melanie and I were sitting in the window... and this guy and his wife came up to the window outside.. and he was joking around he was going to take our picture.. So I took his!!! I am telling you we met so many nice people today.

Here she is ... Ree Drummond.. The Pioneer Woman!!!!

Kind, Gracious, Friendly, Funny!!! Very, Very nice lady..

This gentleman was known as "The Handler". He turned out to be from Mansfield Ohio. He was so nice. Very friendly. He kept the line moving. Helped us get our books all ready. He was Miss Ree's driver, security, book handler, line mover.. just did it all.
Miss Ree signed my book!!!! I enjoyed her new Novel.. Loved reading about how she met the Marlboro Man and about her life on the Ranch.. Oh and her wedding with 600 guests~! She is used to large crowds.. Good things since there were around 1000 people there today.

She signed my cookbook also, she was signing them on a different page but I requested she sign this page. This cookbook was a gift to me from my Brother, Sister In Law and niece.. My Sister in Law had wrote in the book to me.. so I had her sign under it.. She was very gracious and thought it was very sweet that I had received the book as a gift!

Also love the Art work on the cookbook!

6 hours later... Finally!!!!

See she is just so nice!!! I was a little upset with myself.. the time went so fast that I didn't get to tell her that it is on my Bucket List to get to go to the Ranch.. She gives awesome trips to the Ranch away on her blog.. Someday maybe I will win!!! ... Ok if not the trip I want one of the Pioneer Woman Kitchen Aid Mixers.. Hey a gal can dream.

The entire day was so much fun! I have to say I would do it again... maybe not tomorrow but I would definitely take the chance to meet her once again. Great fun. Nice people, good day spent with my sister.

ICE, Splits.. One Set, Enough!

Ice... We have lots of it this morning... What a Mess!!

I have been slowly trying to clear my driveway..

Slowly..

Here is some of the Ice I have broke up..

Then I shovel it off to the side of the driveway.

Did you realize that Ice is very, very slippery.... Very.. VERY Slippery!!

See that spot where it looks like Water under the Ice..

Yep.. Thats a Really, Really Slippery Spot!

That is where I performed the SPLITS for my neighbors.

They didn't laugh.... at first..

They gave me an 8.. said I didn't have great Style~!

Excuse me.. I think I deserved a 10 for being able to get up again~!

So I scraped all I had broken up and the Ice wins.. I'm done..

I am just sure that if I went out again..

There would be a Repeat performance of the Splits.

Don't think these old bones could take it.

Avitae and Hibiscus....

Have you tried the Avitae Caffeinated Water?
I had never tried it before either. Recently I was given the opportunity to experiment with Avitae Caffeinated Water.

I am watering some of my plants with Avitae and some with regular water to see if the Avitae gives them a boost of not.

I am using my Hibiscus, tropical plants for part of the experiment. I am also trying it with my 2 african violets.

Here are my 2 Hibiscus plants.

This is the "Water Only" Hibiscus.

When it blooms it has beautiful Yellow flowers.

This is the "Avitae Caffeinated Water" Hibiscus in the Red flower pot.

It blooms gorgeous Coral colored blooms.

African Violet "Water Only"... yes I know the violets are looking a little rough..

They are longing for Spring. They also need transplanted.

I started this experiment last Sunday..

Today I gave them their Second drink of Avitae.

I can't believe that January is just about over.... Was wondering did anyone see where it went?? It was here looking like an extremely long month... and then ... Gone!!!!

I am loving that we are now a little closer to Spring.. I can't wait...

Next week the GroundHog will be looking for his shadow.. and then... 6 weeks later it will be Spring..

Tulips, Daffodils, Crocus.. Oh I just can't wait.. I love Spring!!!

Don't You Want to Accomplish More In Life??

Recently I had someone ask me.. Don't you want to Accomplish More in your Life??? Are you satisfied with your Life??
After about a 20 second pause... I answered...
Yes, I am very happy with what I have Accomplished.... and I am very Satisfied with my Life.... But Are you???
This person has a fantastic job, makes lots of money, has a beautiful home, drives a brand new car, has a family.... But this person seems to have no joy in anything except going to work... Never any stories about family time..
Anyway, that is what they have Accomplished and its wonderful for them..
Me... I am thrilled that one of my Accomplishments is that the Daycare Kiddos are happy to see me each morning and greet me with a smile on their face.
I feel very Accomplished that the parents trust to leave their children in my care.
I think one of my greatest Accomplishments is the relationship I have with my Family and friends...
So Do I want to Accomplish more... Sure, I would love for my greatest Accomplishment to be to meet each day with Joy!! Hoping to have lots of those days...
Am I satisfied with my Life!!! You bet your bottom dollar I am satisfied... was met with smiling faces this morning...Happy parents going off to work, 3 critters who are happy I am taking care of them... but more importantly I woke up this morning..... and I am finding joy in the day.. Very satisfied with Life...
Oh... and My greatest accomplishment this morning.... Both bathrooms are clean!!! WooHOO!!! its a great day!!!!

My Hibiscus Bloomed this Morning!!

I woke up to a Beautiful surprise this morning... My hibiscus bloomed. These Hibiscus are not of the Hardy variety. This plant my sister Melanie purchased for my Mom for Mothers Day a couple of years ago. I love it!!

I bring it in each winter and enjoy the blooms. It has a couple of more buds on it.. so hopefully I will be able to enjoy it for a while yet.
I have 2 others that I purchased this spring. A Yellow and a peach colored one. Peach has buds.. Yellow.. nothing!!!

I love having these plants to help me remember that even with the Cold Winter Weather.. Spring is only 96 days away!!

Fisher Price Nativity...and the Puppy

I purchased the Fisher Price Nativity a couple of years ago for the Daycare Kiddos..
They love it. I only pull it out during the holidays so its a new toy every year.
This year... I forgot that Miss Lucy had come to live with us. Miss Lucy is... well a Lively Puppy. She is a year old but she is busy and fast.
I caught Miss Lucy with the camel from the nativity which is set up on the coffee table in her mouth.. I told her to DROP it.. and she did. I picked it up and put it where it belongs... then I left the room.
When I arrived back the poor camel was laying on the floor and his nose is missing.. Thats right she ate his nose right off. I was heartbroken. I have contacted Fisher Price in the hopes of purchasing a replacement camel.. If I can't I guess I will have to buy another nativity because we can't have it without the camel.
If you have small Kiddos in your house they will love the Fisher Price LIttle People Nativity... if you have a Puppy.. Hide the Camel!!

Ice Cream

The weekend was wonderful. Lots of time spent with family and friends.

On Sunday some friends and I were looking for something to do. We decided we wanted Ice Cream. Ice Cream on a Spring day what a great idea. So we hoped in the mini van and headed to Ye Olde Mill for an ice cream cone. Ye Olde Mill is the home of Velvet Ice Cream. The best Ice Cream ever.

This weekend was the opening weekend for the 2010 Season.

It is a great place to take your family. They have the Velvet museum there. You can watch them make the Ice Cream as the factory is there. There is a petting zoo, which is fun for the kiddos. A pond with Ducks, The Buckeye Grove which also has a playland there . Picnic Tables are provided for anyone who would like to have a picnic there. You could spend a whole afternoon at Ye Olde Mill having fun.

The Ice Cream was as awesome as always. I had a waffle cone with Peanut Butter Overload and Coconut Almond. They have I believe 50 different flavors of Ice Cream there each day. I am sure they are all delicious.

The Ye Olde Mill is located in Utica,Ohio which is about a 35 minute drive for us. Was worth every mile. Something about good company and an Ice Cream cone that makes the day great!

Straw Bale Gardening

Have you ever had a garden in a bale of straw? I am going to give it a try this year and see what happens. I don't have all of the equipment to have a traditional garden. Nor the time. This way I can have a nice small easy to take care of garden.
Tomorrow is the day I was going to start watering my bales. Well since it has rained all day today I am going to start watering today.. There they are watered. Thanks Mother Nature.
I will take some pictures and be posting how it is going. I am going to plant a couple of tomatoes, some cucumbers, squash, and zucchini for sure. Maybe a green pepper or two.
I am only using 4 bales of straw so I won't be able to plant a lot, but just enough for me. Super excited about getting it planted on Mothers Day weekend. We can not safely plant until then.

Better!

Things seem to be getting a little Better. I think it helps that I have been keeping super busy. Also the sun shine definitely helps me feel better. Still sometimes I get a little stressed, but working on it!
I definitely have found that its the little things in life that are the greatest. Its amazing. The daycare kiddos and I have had so much fun lately just discovering all of the things outdoors.. The Lilac bush is a huge hit. Noses are pressed into those fragrant blooms often. I love them also, and who knew a bouquet of dandelions looked as pretty as a bouquet of expensive roses.
See life is good.. its getting Better.. Enjoy!!

Taxes!!!

Yes, I know that Taxes are due on April 15th. Yes, I also know that today is April 13th.. I am trying to get them done. I will admit I have procrasitinated horribly on this task. First I have never done Taxes as a home daycare provider. Second, all of my mom's paper work was mixed in with my stuff for taxes and I wasn't looking forward to digging through all of that paper work. So I put it off.
Well I guess I can't put it off any longer. I worked on them this morning and have most of the information ready for the Tax papers. My sister is going to help me out Thank Goodness for her.. I don't know what I would do otherwise. She also does a home daycare and does her own taxes on the computer. She always did my mom's and knows what she is doing. Thankfully she is willing to give me a hand.
So... Do you have your Taxes done yet??? If not.. Ummm its April 13th you might want to go ahead and do that now!!!

Fussy Britches!!!

The kiddos kept me hopping today. I had the wee babe.. he was a tiny fussy this morning. I said to him "Okay Fussy Britches, what do you think you need now, a diaper change??"
I wasn't thinking... I wasn't thinking about my 2 year old niece, The Repeater.. She repeated. Didn't sound like Fussy Britches anymore. I didn't comment hoping she never repeats it again. Lets hope she has forgotten that phrase and I will try to never say it again.

Weekend Away!!!

I had a wonderful weekend away from home. My sister Melanie and I went to visit some of our relatives in Penna. We left on Thursday and came back today..(Sunday)
I enjoyed visiting with all of the Aunts and Uncles.. lots of the cousins and even met a couple of new little cousins.
We visited the Casino and I actually came home with a whopping $13.00 more than I left with.. wish that amount had a few more zeros behind it.
I am glad to be back home now and ready to get back into a schedule with all of the kiddos.. This little mini-spring break revived me!!!

Spring Flowers

I have been anxiously awaiting Spring. I am not a fan of Winter at all. I have always Loved Spring.

Spring means rain, pansies, tulips, daffodils, hyanciths, dirty fingernails, Forsythia getting ready to bloom. I just love Spring.

I have nothing planted at this new house. Was hoping there would be tons of Tulips and Daffodils sprouting leftover from the last person who lived here. Didn't happen... So.. I made do!

Entry way and Huge barrel that I filled with Johnny Jump-Ups (Violas).

Little green pots... well those Were in the daycare room.. with toys in them. But with limited funds and a huge need to have some Spring flowers... I made Do!

Finally I was able to get to the Spring wreath. It was stored in the garage. I hauled 2 loads of stuff to Goodwill.. and finally I could reach the wreath.

(Yes I know it needs lowered on the door, I took it out of the garage and stuck it up there, I will fix it!)

Awww... You should smell those Hyanciths, The tulips are so pretty and the Daisies.. I love Daisies.

Another show of the Johnny Jump-ups. This was so much fun for me. We can't really plant here until after Mother's Day. Well luckily these Johnny Jump ups are hardy and should be fine.

Living Life.

I have been busy... just busy Living Life.
Seems like the days I think will be nice and slow turn out to be the busiest of all.
I have been spending lots of time with family and friends. I truly appreciate each one of them.
Yesterday was fun. My niece who is 2 came and spent part of the day with me. I think it was such a treat for her because usually when she comes to Aunt Renie's house there are all the daycare kiddos here. This time it was just her and I. She loved it. We made the Dog Bed into a bed for her stuffed animals and just played.
When Natalie was here we decided to go to Drug Mart to rent movies.. She was so funny as we were picking up other things in the store to purchase. Like new bouncy balls for the Daycare kiddos to play with outside. She was thrilled. She kept saying "Aunt Renie we are buying Everything". She is so much fun.
I rented the movie The Blindside.. If you haven't seen it yet.. I can not recommend it more.. It is a wonderful movie.

Cracked Windshield

I went on a Road Trip with some friends on Saturday. We had a great day of going to Roadside Markets, Flea Markets, Barn Sales, Eating lunch at a great pizza place.. Just good times.
On Saturday evening my Sister and I thought we would make a run to the Flower Factory. I love the Flower Factory store. They have so many things for decorating your home.
As we were getting in my van to leave my sister realized that my windshield on my van was Cracked... All the way across. On the driver side there is a little hole, then the crack begins and goes all the way across the bottom.
So today the Safelite man is coming to replace my windshield. I feel bad because my van won't fit in the garage and it is raining... so he may not be able to do it today.
Sun please shine down on us today so my van can be fixed.

Hello..
Is anyone there??? I would completely understand if no one stops and reads my blog, I mean I haven't posted in over a month.. ok almost 2 months.
I am coming back.. or hope too. Please blame Facebook. Somehow I got sucked into the make believe world of Farmville. I don't know how it happened or why but it did, it was fun for a while. Then I realized the sun was shining outside and I could actually go outdoors and see real people, real flowers, real animals.

The Oreck Steam-It is something I could definitely use. I recently moved to a new home which now has several floors that need cleaned. This Oreck Steam-It would be fantastic to have for these floors.

Bears.... Smart!!!

With winter here there are days that I feel like this big old Grizzly Bear.. Just plain ole Cranky!!!! I seem to get Cabin Fever really fast anymore.

The Grizzly side of me wants winter to just go away... So I was thinking maybe... I could be a little more like the Bear. Hibernation!!! I could Hibernate. I mean Bears sleep from about October until April or even May!!! Hello do you know how happy I would be with that much sleep, and they lose weight while they are in Hibernation.

This beautiful Brown Bear says it all... Bears are Smart.
Sleeping, staying warm, and losing weight. I am going to be a Bear in my next life.

Now I know all bears don't hibernate. That their surroundings, the weather all kinds of things can mess them up. The reason I know this is my Aunt has had a Bear visiting her porch the last few weeks. He loves her bird feeders. Crazy Bear go take a nap!!!

Homemade Christmas Gifts.

I am super busy today. I am making some homemade Christmas gifts.. Well goodie boxes.
So far the Turtles are done and ready to be packed.
Now I am whipping up the Oreo Truffles, then the fudge and then the peanut brittle. I am gifting these to "My Boys"..
I know they will love and appreciate the goodie boxes and I know I don't have a bunch of money to buy other things.
They are also all coming for dinner on Monday night. Beef and Noodles.. can't wait it will be great fun.

Last night one of my Daycare Mom's came to pick up her son. She walked in with the most adorable little visitor. Her new puppy.. Isn't she just adorable..

I would tell you her name but I don't know how to spell it.. It is Sweetie in Spanish. She honestly is a Sweetie.. I told her mommy no bringing puppies to my house. It gives me the fever. I don't want or need another dog.... but oh my, my that face could make me want one quick.

Gingerbread House

I bought a Gingerbread House Kit at Walmart recenty. It was made by Wilton. I liked it because the House was actually already put together the kids and I just had to decorate it. This is what it looked like out of the box. It came with a few assorted candies, Gumdrops, and little round candy balls. We added some leftover candy and cookies.

The Daycare kiddos loved doing this project.

The Candy Corn and little Oreos left from Halloween worked perfectly.
The Wilton set was really nice except I had a problem with the icing which was included. You were supposed to add water and it was supposed to be as thick as toothpaste.
Didn't work. Thank goodness my sister stopped by and saw the mess we were making. She ran to her house and got us some good ole Pillsbury frosting. Worked beautifully.

These kits are very reasonably priced at only $10.00.
They have several other kits available.
Check them out on your next trip to Walmart..
PS... does anyone else call it Wally World???

I love 9:30a.m. It is my favorite time of the day... Why you ask... Well see my TV below. See that picture. That Picture can make 4 Daycare Boys sit still..See, They won't move. They will be frozen in front of Dinosaur Train for 30 minutes.

Its Wonderful.

Ok.. gotta go, while they sit still I can unload the dishwasher, Throw in a load of laundry. Take the dog out. Mop the kitchen floor and possibly clean both bathrooms.

I make things like,
Lasagna, Beef and Noodles, Roast, Spaghetti, Mac and Cheese, Just the usual dishes.
One of the reasons I love to cook is My Temptations...

They make cooking easy. You can take your Temp-Tations from the Freezer to the Table to the Oven to the Dishwasher.. That's right they are Dishwasher safe. You won't need the Dishwasher because these dishes clean up so easy.

I have this set above. Mine are in the yellow. I love them. The Temp-tations Old World 11-pc. Square Oven-to- Table Set and sells for under $50.00. Now that's a good deal. I am going to be truthful since I am not a fancy cook I really don't need all of the baskets that come with the dishes. But they are super nice.
This is a new set they have with a neat Carry Tote. It is called the Temp-tations Old World 9-pc. Set w/Thermal EmbroideredTote No I don't have this set. I would love it. Of course I would want it in the Yellow or Blue color.

Now I don't need dishes, honest I don't. If I did need dishes I would order these.They are the Temp-tations Old World 16-piece Dinnerware Service for 4. I hadn't seen these till now. I can tell you that if they are half as nice as the other Temp-Tations then they are great. They come in different colors. All of the Temp-Tations colors are beautiful.

I have been really neglecting my blog. I have just had so much going on in the last few months.
I am going to attempt to turn over a new leaf. My goal is going to be first of all to clean this blog up. I have some things that need removed, some things I would like to add.
After I have it all cleaned up, I would like to try to blog at least 2 times each week.. at least. We shall see if it happens.
Wish me luck. I am just hoping that my life is finally a little calmer and I can devote a little time to my blog. I love blogging.

Hallmark has a new movie coming out. It is going to be on Sunday Nov. 29th. Its called A Dog Named Christmas. It looks wonderful. Of course I love the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies. I am looking forward to watching on Sunday night.

Today's The Day!!!

The Day that Buckeye Fans wait for all year long.

Today is the Day where the Brutus Buckeye in all of us comes out.. We will be sporting our Scarlet and Grey, We will have blown up Brutus in our Yards, We will be flying our Ohio State Buckeye Flags. There will be people with their bodies painted Scarlet and Grey.

A Cold!!!

I have a Cold... Thats right, runny nose, scratchy throat, little headache, maybe a fever. Problem with me having a Cold is this.... It makes me GROUCHY!!! that's right people Grouchier than normal so beware. Keep Away!!!
I think one of my Daycare Babies may of decided to share his cold with me that he had last week. He showed up at my house today feeling fine. No sign of a cold in sight. Thats not fair. I hope mine is gone in 3 days.
Well I am going to go and make me some Oatmeal for supper. I know, I know Oatmeal, supper, with a cold. I know Chicken noodle soup but Oatmeal just sounds really good and warm and yummy.

The Longest Week!!!

The Last Week seemed like it lasted for a month. Moving was/is hard work. I am so fortunate to have had so much help from family and friends. Last Sunday we had a painting party. We painted every room in the house except the 2 bathrooms. They will get painted eventually.
The house is almost all set up, There are a few more things that needed finished up. My youngest sister has stopped over each day and hung pictures on the wall. She is quite talented. I will take pictures soon and post them on my blog.
The internet was greatly missed for the 8 days I went without it. Baby Stellan had a rough time of it and is now being dismissed from the hospital completely SVT free, that was some of the best news I have heard in ages.

Moving... Again!

On Sunday evening I was taking my little 2 year old niece for a ride in my van. She loves to go riding around town and checking out all the sites. She likes to see our towns Water Tower. I always enjoy spending time with her and this is great fun for us both. We were cruising around town looking at Halloween decorations and then she saw the Water tower so we went to check it out. Its a great Water Tower.... Well good thing I like looking at that Water Tower because right across the street is my new house!!! That's right while looking at the water tower on Sunday evening I found this adorable little house across the street.

Its a relatively new home. 2 years old, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, living room, kitchen, laundry room. I love that it has a 2 car garage. It has a nice yard. its just a nice little house. I can start moving in today. We are painting hopefully starting tomorrow.

I am hoping to start moving by the end of the week or the first of next week. Luckily my family has jumped right in and offered lots of help. My friends have also offered help and the night that I found the house I really wanted to look at it. I received the keys that night.. it was dark, there is no electric in the house. So luckily one of "My Boys" grabbed some flashlights and went with me to check out the house in the dark. Then he is so nice that he stayed at the house and I went and sat with my little niece who was sleeping and my sister ran over and checked out the house in the dark. Can't help it.. we like to get things done right away. We are not patient people.

Well if anyone has any spare time I need painters, and movers. Oh and I have to buy a new electric stove and a washer and dryer. That will keep me busy shopping. A lot of changes going on.. I hope that by the first of the year I can be settled and just be ready to live life. Changes are good, but honestly the last 6 months I have had many. Change is good in small doses.. especially when you are as old as I am... Stop by and see us at the new house, we will be painting.

I Love trying new products. I also love winning new products. Recently I added the Purex 3 in 1 complete sheets button to my blog.. and I won. I won a years worth of the Purex 3 in 1 complete sheets. They arrived a couple of days ago. Now I have to say that I have never tried the Purex laundry soaps before. I honestly thought since they were so affordable they couldn't be near as great as some of the ones that cost more. Well I can tell you that the Purex 3 in 1 complete sheets are Great.
My 240 sheets arrived and I decided to give them a try. First of all the ease, you just throw the sheet in the washer. Then when placing the clothes in the Dryer just take the sheet with you. They really worked great. I was lucky enough to receive the Spring Oasis Scent of Purex sheets. They smell great.
These sheets are such a great idea. No more large bottles of soap to lug home. No more large bottles to fill the Recyling bin, or the landfills for some people who don't recycle.. (What someone doesn't Recycle).
If you haven't tried these sheets yet you should. I think you will be very pleasantly surprised how great they work.

I Did It, I Finally Read the Twilight Books!!

I have to admit that I had reservations about reading Twilight. I mean why would I want to read a book about Vampires.. No really Why???
Well one day during the summer one of my Daycare Kiddos brought a copy of Twilight with her. I read the first 25 pages because I wanted to see what all the hype was about...
She took it back, All I had read was 25 pages...
A friend of mine found out that I had Never read Twilight! She was shocked as she knows that I love to read. She brought me her Twilight books..
A huge Thank You to Jan for letting me borrow her books!!
I read the 4 books in 7 days... This is huge These books have a lot of reading in them. Thank goodness my daycare kiddos are excellent nappers. Thank goodness I have learned how to still walk and talk with a small amount of sleep.
The books are wonderful. I am not sure which was my favorite, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn. And now I hear that Stephanie Meyers has book 5 coming out.. How exciting to see what is going on in the life of Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
I recommend these books very highly, if you have a life beware they take over... I didn't have to worry about it!!!

Thats Right its Monster Cookie Dough...look at all of those Chocolate Chips, M&M's, Mini Reese Pieces.. Delicious.

Here it is all ready to go into the oven..

I love little M&M's and chocolate chips in every cookie.

Here they are cooling before I send them off to family and friends.. I only baked a few dozen the rest of the dough is in the refrigerator, the freezer, and I took some to my Sister.

I had my sister send me her Monster Cookie recipe because I haven't made them in years. Why should I she always does and there is always plenty. Well she gave me the recipe with a sweet little note on the end how she always doubles it... Ok... I will do that too... Here is my words of wisdom for today..
First if you are a great cook doesn't mean you will be a good Baker.. Too much darn measuring.. I don't like baking.
Second.. Don't double a Monster Cookie Recipe unless you have a Really BIG bowl... I doubled it... I didn't have a big bowl. At one time I had that pile of dough in 4 bowls... then I remembered the POT.. the Family Spaghetti Pot.. It worked perfectly for a mixing bowl for a double batch of monster cookies.
Ok.. just so you have a rough idea whats in a double batch..
4 cups of sugar
20 cups of Oats.. thats right 20...
12 eggs.. yes a whole entire dozen
Whole bag of M&M's
and lots of other great stuff.. they are great...

Prarie Peddler Craft Show

What a great day we had today. My youngest sister visits the Prarie Peddler Craft Show each year. She always comes home with the best goodies. This year she invited myself, my aunt, and my other 2 sisters to go along. Unfortunately only one of my sisters was able to go... The other one missed out. Maybe next year.
It was a wonderful Craft show in the woods. They have little shops built and each one had a different crafter. Wonderful things. So much fun.

The stores don't carry EVERYTHIING BARNEY anymore, explain that to a almost 2 year old.

I am going to buy her winter boots for her birthday.... I know she would love BARNEY.

I have searched the net with no luck. Bummer!!!

I am sure Birdie will be just as happy with Pink or Purple boots but I would love to surprise her with Barney Snow boots.

I found this out by accident.
I have used the same brand of Hair Color for years!!! Always a choice of 2 shades..
Well lately I have been attempting to cut corners, Working on saving some money on the budget and ummm There was some Hair Coloring on sale at our new Discount Drug Mart (My favorite store). I purchased the little green box...
I purchased the same exact color that I usually use in a different brand. LIGHT Golden Brown... ummmm My hair is now a Dark Brown with Red. How did this happen?? Now What??? I am hoping after I wash it about 20 times a day it will lighten up some.
Its not that it is a bad color its just really dark. I used to be blonde, I even used to use the blonde hair coloring.. Then I moved on to the LIGHT brown. LIGHT brown was a good color for me... This LIGHT brown on my head just isn't what I wanted. I do look like I am ready for fall now with this brown, with red going on... Like a tree changing leaf color..
So I learned when you find a product that you love... DO NOT save a couple of bucks and buy a different one... Change is not good.

My Mom

My Mom was a woman of great strength, courage, spirit, fight, sense of humor, compassionate, loyal, loving, faithful, dependable, kind, & sometimes bossy, occassionally she was nosey.
I learned a lot from her, She was a teacher, a cook, a nurse, a waitress, a laundress, a gardener. The greatest Mother.. and so much more.
She loved her children, Her grandchildren, and her great granddaughter. She loved her family immensely. She adored the family pets. (Even if one was a yapping mutt.)
She liked the Buckeyes, buying crafts, and her great shopping passion was new furniture. I used to laugh that she changed couches more than most people change their bed sheets. She loved new furniture.
My Mom.... We miss you Mom.... We love you Mom.....

My mom lost her courageous battle to cancer on Tuesday Sept. 15....She had Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma... which is a rae cancer.
This week has been so busy. A few days ago I was blogging about the new normal.. Nurses, hospital beds, oxygen, sheet changing, laundry... and everything else...
Oh How I wish I had that normal back in my life.. We buried my mom in a beautiful spot at our local town cemetary... No one wants to lose a loved one.... No one!!!
The 6 of us children,Her 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild... and sisters, brothers, nephews, nieces, and friends will miss her greatly, but we will meet again...
Thank you for giving us such a great mom, Lord.... She is an amazing woman.. Please Rest in Peace Mom........

I just had to show you these adorable Sock Animals that I bought at Sam's Club. They are absolutely adorable. My favorites are the Bright Colored Striped Sock Monkeys. I also love the Frog, the Dog, and the Elephant..

They were so reasonably priced. You get 2 of the Sock Animals for only $9.98. They are individually boxed so you can give them as gifts. I am going to use these for gifts for my Daycare Kiddos at Christmas.

I love that they are stuffed with fiber made from recycled bottles. GReen is good. Also they are great for any age as they don't have any buttons or anything. They are embroidered very safe for little ones.

Staycation Week 1

Staycation
Until about 2 months ago I had never heard of a Staycation.
Never really thought I would be having a Staycation, I love Vacations!
Why would I want to have a 2 week Staycation?
Well things come up and sometimes you have to make the best of it...
Enter My 2 week Staycation.

It has been great. I have gotten some projects around the house done. I have read a couple of books. I had dinner a couple of nights with some of "My Boys". One on One with them is as much fun as being with them in a group. Big Joe and I hit Chipotle one night, Tbone and I went to Hong Kong for lunch.. great fun. I have had the time to spend with my some of my nieces and nephews.. My great niece was over for a visit what fun.. She is honestly too cute. My niece the Princess has been over and her and I visited a Green House.. She is 2 and the best back seat driver..."Aunt Rene slow down, You are going to fast, I most missed that Big REd barn"... I was going 50 in a 55.. but slowed down for her so she wouldn't miss seeing the world.
Hoping to grab my niece & nephew M & G and go to Sonic for half priced Slushies this week.. They helped me win a gift card and we have been looking forward to going.

Saturday was great fun on my Staycation. My 2 sisters M3 and M6, my niece Tinkerbell and I went on a day trip. We started at Trader Joe's decided that there was too much we wanted there that needed taken straight home to the fridge. So we decided to shop a little grab lunch then back to Trader Joes. M6 and I went to Crate and Barrel and M3 and my niece ran into Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble is not safe for me I would love to spend my entire Staycation in there.
Then we had lunch... We lunched at The Cheesecake Factory, Out on the patio.. What a great place. Great Service, Great Food, Great Atmosphere. After lunch back to Trader Joes.. Oh My!!! Trader Joes I will be back. I really liked that store and they had so many items that I haven't tried. Prices were terrific. Bananas 19 cents a pound.. Unheard of here in town they are 59 cents a pound.

Sunday, Oh Sunday another terrific day... "My Boys" and I had a spur of the moment thought that we would find something to do and get out of "Dodge". Well it ended up at first only 1 would be able to go.. Work, families, lack of funds, all kinds of conflicts arose. CDawg and I made plans to drive to a casino, and then work our way back finding things to do. Honestly we all would be glad just to get in the car and drive spending time chatting. The whole bunch of us are that way. Ended up that "My Boy" The BabySmurph, and my sis M3 were able to join us after all..
Oh what fun, We went to the Casino where BabySmurph was only allowed pretty much in the lobbies and the restaurant. We took turns being with him and being in the casino. He is only 19.. The baby of the bunch. We then left Indiana and came back to Ohio.. Went to Jungle Jim's.. Have you been.. OH MY GOODNESS, Loudest, Busiest, Largest, Wildest grocery store (Market) I have ever been to in my life. It was so overwhelming.
After Jungle Jim's it was time to start heading home.. We all wanted to eat somewhere that wasn't fast food, that you sat down and are served and where we don't ever eat.. IHOP fit the bill. Ok.. the food was great, the service was fantastic, They honestly give you way too much food. I left half of mine there. Omelettes that are amazing, but they come with Pancakes on the side. Yummy!!
Well that was pretty much week 1 of my Staycation, Going into the final week I have a few plans. I am having "My Boys" for dinner, I am hoping my book Julie & Julia arrives so I can quickly read it and then go to the movies this weekend to see it. Hoping to spend more time with my family this week. I am going to call some of my nieces to see if they want to make a "date" to see Julie & Julia with me.. That would make it that much more fun.
I hope all of you are either having a Staycation, or a Vacation... Just remember to Enjoy!!!

Stellan Prayers Needed Please

I know that a lot of my readers are familiar with MckMama and her entire MckFamily. They could definitely use everyone praying for them.

Little Stellan is not doing well at all. Last update says they are waiting to be MedFlighted back to Boston. Stellan has been back in SVT for 3 days. His heart is not working right at all. His organs(kidneys) are failing. He is a very sick baby.

I am just asking if anyone has the time and would like to please stop over at MckMama's blog and leave her a message.. Well a message for the entire family.

Top 10 Reasons I am Excited to Stay Home with My Family This Coming Weekend.The girls of the Non BlogHer Party believe that just because we aren't going to BlogHer it doesn't mean we shouldn't count, right? So my Top 10 Reasons I am glad to not be going to BlogHer are:

1. My 2 week Staycation begins on Friday night at 5 p.m.. 2 whole weeks doing what I want to do. Yeah!!!

2. I would miss out on valuable time with my mom. Her health is not great at all right now. Being home I know she is eating, and taking meds when she is supposed to be.

3. If I went to BlogHer my SIL lovemy2doggies would be at home pouting. This way she is happy.. and that is what matters.

4. I will get to spend wonderful time with my nieces and nephews.. well maybe not all of them. Some of them have busy lives..

5. I would miss out on going to Trader Joe's . I have never been (gasp) I know.

6. I am hoping this weekend to do some other things I have never done.. Starbucks, Half Priced Slushies at Sonic,

7. If I was at BlogHer this weekend I would miss out on the chance of going to the local movie theater to see Harry Potter with a friend.. ( I don't like the movies.. only the books.. but a friend asked)

8. If I was at BlogHer this weekend I would miss out on all of the great things happening at home. I am hoping to hit the State Fair, and maybe the local Crawford Co. Fair.

9.If I was at BlogHer, I would miss out on doing the laundry I have put off all week, on redoing the shelves in the pantry of the new house, on putting finishing touches on my bedroom, organizing the spare bedroom.

10. If I was at BlogHer this weekend.. I would miss this awesome opportunity from COZI... I am planning on updating my brand new Cozi account this weekend.. it looks great!

I wanted to thank everyone who has been stopping by, unfortunately I have been busy lately and blogging has been put on the back burner.
I am hoping that after Sunday maybe things will calm down enough that I will be able to blog more regularly.
I have all these great posts in my head I need to blog about.. Just getting them to the laptop is hard.
I know that i have missed entering lots of great giveaways lately. I have 2 great giveaways coming up soon. I have one almost finished and ready to post and the other I have started. Soon I promise soon.
As most know we moved, we moved from a really large huge house, to a much smaller house. I am loving the new house. It is getting easier and easier to take care of as we put things away.
I am having a HUGE garage sale tomorrow.. It is so huge that it outgrew the garage.. so now it is going to be in my front yard, huge front porch and 2 living rooms, and dining room of my old house.. I am telling you.. There is something there for everyone.
I sold a few things tonight.. Yeah!!!
I am so fortunate that tonight when setting up the sale I had terrific helpers. My sister M3 was there, My Sis in law Tammy, and then 2 of "My Boys" came to help.. My boy H brought his wife and 2 little boys.. The little guys were great hauling wagon loads of things from the garage to the house. I couldn't have done it without all of the help I have had the last couple of weeks. Amazing what people will do for free pizza.
I will try to take pics of the sale tomorrow.. you honestly won't believe it unless you see it.

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters

I received the Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters from My Blog Spark.

I loved them. They come in 4 fantastic flavors Roasted Almonds, Roasted Cashew, Nut Lovers and Honey Roasted Peanut.

Wow have I been busy, you can tell because I haven't posted in a while. I promise that there will be great things coming up soon.

Summertime Fun

I love Summer, I love Spring more, but summer is fantastic.

I love the blooming flowers, the smell of fresh mowed grass, spending lots of time outside with the kiddos. Time spent sitting on my front porch just enjoying the Summer Breeze.

Today was my first day having the School age kids at Daycare.. What Fun!!!
I love listening to them when they are talking.
Today I had the wee babe who is 11 months old now, A sweet boy who is 7year old boy(bless his heart), then the Girls.. They are 5, 7, 8, and 9 years old.. Now you know why I said bless his heart about the 7 year old boy.
The 7 and 9 year old girls were discussing jewelry, earrings in particular. They were talking about where they bought the earrings they had in their ears. Then proceeded to begin chatting about their Favorite Jewelry stores.. The 7 Year old excitedly tells that her 2 favorites are Penney's (I assume J.C. Penney's) and Claires.. I could see that at 7 Claires is great for accessorizing anything.
The 9 year old then says, Oh I have been to Claires but my favorite jewelry store is TIFFANY's... I am still giggling.. it cracked me up to hear a 9 year old say it.. Her momma has trained her well..

Tarz-Anna came for a short visit today.

One of my Daycare Mom's is a 4th grade teacher, if you live in our part of Ohio you want your kids to have her for a teacher. Trust me, they will never ever be bored, they will learn a lot and have fun.

Tarz-Anna used to be Tarzan...until one day she laid Eggs... Surprise she is a girl. The eggs were not fertilized so there were no little baby Iguana's running around. Tarz-Anna is a good size Iguana.. I think she looks prehistoric. The kiddos loved her. She is about 7 years old.

She belongs to daycare kiddo Chubba, remember he brought the bunnies,

they also have frogs, fish, turtles, a Mini Pony, 2 Mini Pygmy Goats (one is pregnant sorry, Ssh... don't tell Scott) Bunnies, 3 cats, a Huge Dog named Max, I am sure I have missed a few of the critters. Their house would be great fun. Its like a petting zoo.

Kiddos Standing Still !!

Go Ahead Admit it You are wondering how I managed to get 7 kiddos to stand still on my back porch for almost an hour.

Ages 11 months to 6 years. All Standing Still.. You want to know don't you..

Its really easy !!!!Just Get one of these for the Day!!!!

The Excavator arrived a little before 11a.m. It is still here at almost 9p.m.
These guys have had to dig 2 huge holes in the yard.
The Best news is as of right this minute there is no more water going into my basement.
YEAH!!!
The Kiddos had the time of their lives watching the action.
I loved watching them Standing Still
