I am comfy in the recliner, eating a bowl of Blue Bunny, Bunny Tracks Ice Cream. (Yummy) with Rocky laying beside me. The tv is on the Food Network for yet another Challenge show. I have just returned from Ollie's where I purchased 12 new books to read, and a set of Paula Deen's spoonualas. I have nothing that needs done that can't wait until later. Oh life is so good. Oh wait.. Maybe its the ice cream.. Okay. Oh.. Blue Bunny Bunny Tracks Ice Cream makes Life so Good.

Getting to know Me!!

My name is Rene, really its not, its Maureen. I am the oldest of 6 kids. My parents had the great fun of giving all 6 of us names that begin with the letter M. There are 4 girls, and 2 brothers.

We were Army Brats which is why we have been lucky enough to live in some really great places. We lived in Texas , Oklahoma, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Ohio. We have seen a lot of the states but I still have some I need crossed off my list. I love to travel. Car travel is the best. I have flown and just prefer to get to where I am going in a car. There is so much to see out there.

I am not married, I was engaged to a great guy. Unfortunately he passed away shortly before our wedding. He had Kidney Cancer. It is so sad to watch someone you love suffer through the agony of a disease like that, if you could save someone with love he would definitely still be here.

I live in a great small town in Ohio, my mom and I share a home. My mutt Rocky and my cat Annie are nice enough to allow us to live with them, feed them, play with them, cater to their every need. We are lucky

I worked at an assortment of jobs over the years, I have ran a veggie stand for my Uncle, Worked in a County run Daycare Agency, Worked at a Gas Station/Convenience store, Worked for the United States Census Bureau, Worked for my sister at her Pizza Shop, Worked at another Pizza shop for on and off 19 years, Home Daycare, Worked one day in a grocery store Deli (so wasn't the job for me). Worked at a local Meat packaging place during Deer Season. I did this for one season... more than enough for me... Thank goodness others can do it.

I have some terrific friends. Some of my best friends are "My Boys", they are the young men that worked with me over the years at the Pizza shop. They have grown into fine young men. One is married with 2 children, Wow how did that happen, I still call them boys. It doesn't matter that we are roughly 23 years apart in age, I talk to most of them at least 2 times a week and we still go to dinner usually once a week. We also go on road trips and I drive. They are great kids.

I enjoy my family, the brothers, sisters, in laws, nieces and nephews and great niece, mom, and all the extended family. I love doing things with the family. We often go on vacations together or road trips. Or just get together and eat.... we are good at eating.

Things I love to do are travel, read, enter blog giveaways, cook(good cook, lousy baker),and spend time with the family and friends.

Thank Goodness it is Friday!!

Friday, I am so thankful. It was such a busy day. I love the kiddos but I am so glad to see them go home and know they won't be back until Monday.
This evening after they left, my sister, her grandaughter who is 16 months old and I went on a field trip. It was fun. We were headed to the Amish Bulk Food Store about 1o minutes from our house. It was closed. We took some back roads and ended up at the Amish Bent and Dent store. We try to go 2 times a month. Lots of bargains. They also have really good fresh baked goods. I passed today, but I saw some donuts that looked really good.
I think I am going to head up to bed early. I am wore out. We had a great dinner, Biscuits with Sausage Gravy and Mashed Potatoes. My mom also had some baked beans. I love breakfast for dinner. Yummy!!

What a Very Busy Day!!

Today has been busier than ever. I have 3 boys who are 3 and 4 years old, one little girl who is 3, and one little boy who is 5, the sweet 7 month old baby boy, and my niece who is 7 who decided today would be a fantastic day to miss her first day of school. She said she wasn't feeling well when she woke up, a little sore throat.. Umhmmmm... sore throat, yeah thats the story she is telling but she is FINE.. goodness, Also The Princess was here for a bit while Sis went to the grocery.
We had music time, free play, built a tent, built a huge Garage out of Duplos, all kinds of stuff. I am exhausted. Thank goodness for naptime. The 2 girls are still awake. The 7 year old is bored. hmm wouldn't be quite so boring at SCHOOL...
I haven't even had time to look to see if there are any good giveaways today. I am getting ready to check.
I hope there is something good.
I received 2 of my prizes in the mail yesterday. The book the Daisy Chain looks and sounds terrific, I can't wait to read it. The little coin purse is really nice. I might use it for myself or maybe a gift.

A Family Blog!

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone in the Family know that I am going to be making another Blog just for family. This blog will be private, meaning you have to be invited to view it. I will feel more comfortable posting pictures, and using names if I know only family is viewing it. Also I will be able to give some of you the password and you will be able to make posts, and put pictures on if you would like. I think it will be great, and trust me if I can do it anyone can. Like I said before my picture should be on the cover of Blogging for Dummies book. I will be letting you know as soon as I get it all set up.

My Aunts..

I wanted to take a minute to say that my Aunts are the greatest.. No really I am not just typing this because I think they will read it. I know they will. But I totally appreciate my family, all of them. I especially appreciate my Aunts.
My dads family lives near me. I love them all but do not have the same connection with them that I do with my Mom's family. I am close to everyone on my Mom's family. We have a huge family.
My Aunts are all Gems. If I want to go on "vacation" I ususally head straight to Penna. Straight to the Aunts. My Aunt L. she is great she was here recently and stayed for several weeks. It was great. My Aunt C. wow can she cook, if you want something yummy go to Aunt C.'s she can throw stuff in a pot, and out comes the most wonderful dish. Auntie P. She is great. I love going to her house, She takes the most wonderful Photos.
My Aunt B. always has been grand for a good time. We have been on more Road Trips together, including our favorite past time, Cemetary Hopping!!.
Thats right.
My Aunt M. once again she can cook anything, Best Homemade Mac and Cheese you will ever have, and Cole Slaw. The last few vacations I have stayed in a camper in her drive way.. Wonderful.. Better than any hotel.
I once travelled from Oklahoma to Penna with Auntie P, and Aunt L, Grammy and some cousins in a Volkswagon Van. What a great fun trip.
Aunt B, oh goodness the good times with her and the cousins. Camping down on the Creek bed for a week in a Roll of plastic we made into a lean to, Taking a trip to the lake and sleeping on lawn chairs or in the back of a pickup truck. Awesome times.
Aunt C. and Uncle B. took us some great places, to Eagles Mere to ride down the ice hill on tobogans and across the lake. Camping the first day of trout. Oh the good times.
Well that is all for now, Wanted to say Thanks to the Aunties, Lots of great memories, and also say I hope everyone has Aunts like I do. The Best, The Aunts make anywhere HOME...
Wanted to just say I have Terrific Uncles also.... Don't worry I will write about you guys some day. Also maybe even some of the wonderful Cousins, so that leaves out Scott, Gary and Jimmy.. Bummer

Its Wednesday!!! Only 2 more days to go.

I am glad it is Wednesday already. I only have 4 kiddos here today. 2/4 year old boys, 3 year old girl, and the babe. It was a easy day. We had breakfast, had some free play, worked on the letter E again today, played some games, and then watched the new favorite show. They are in love with Super Why!!! They watch it and never make a peep or move. Its good because it is educational. Then we had lunch and now its NAPTIME!!! yeah my favorite time of the day. The Princess came over and played for a bit today. She is too funny.
Mom had Chemo today. The first time for this new Chemo. It isn't supposed to have as many side effects. I hope it is effective Chemo and does what it is supposed to and help keep those tumors from growing and or spreading. She has been feeling really good the last week or so. I hope that continues.

Wow, Aunt L.. Left me a comment. Hurray!!!!!

I am so excited, my aunt left me a comment. This is big for me. I wasn't getting very many comments and we figured out part of the reason was I didn't have it set up correctly. I fixed it, without losing any of my blog, a miracle.
I am glad the 3 of you went to the Y. today. I am going upstairs now and attempt to get some exercise on that treadmill. Then I am going to come downstairs and watch the Biggest Loser. (I might move my TV upstairs and walk while it is on).
Rocky is looking a lot like the 2 little dogs there in penna. He hasn't had a haircut since October I think, and he is a mess. He is such a sweet little mutt though and for the most part well behaved. He has never peed on my feet on the bed, thank goodness (See lovemy2dogs for that one).
Take Care Aunties, Love and Miss you all... Yes even Gary, Scott, and Jimmy. ( not Fred so much) hehehehe.. had to say it for you guys.

A Very Busy Day!!!

I just have a second. There are already 7 kids here, one more to arrive soon. That will give me 5 boys who are 3/4 years old, and 2 girls who are 4, and of course the Baby who is already 7 months old.Whooo!!!!
I think that Sis and The Princess will be over in a bit also. The older kids and I worked on our letters this morning. We are working on the letter E.
They for the most part get it, sometimes though they get sidetracked rather quickly. Right now they are all sitting on the couch watching Cailou, we don't watch a lot of TV. I am hoping to get them outdoors for a few minutes. The sun is shining and it is a whopping 28 degrees.
Oh Yes, I wanted to give a big SHOUT OUT!!!! to my Aunts in Penna again, I hear some of you have been reading my blog daily. You poor souls, must be really bored. hehehe.. Rocky Balboa, The Star!!!

I thought I would introduce you to the STAR of the show. He runs this house, or so he thinks. His name is Rocky Balboa, we sometimes call him RockStar, mostly just ROCKY!!!! I will take some recent pictures of him as he is totally shaggy right now. Rocky was a rescue dog. He is Cairn Terrier/Yorkie Terrier mix. He is a wonderful dog.

He is honestly a little boy who happens to wear a fur coat. He loves kids, his squeaky ice cream cone, anything that kids eat, playing outside, going for walks.

Tortilla Soup!!!

I just had a nice hot bowl of Tortilla Soup. It makes me sad. Why??? Because it is the last of the frozen Tortilla Soup, there isn't anymore in the freezer. Bummer, I made a double batch for Christmas Eve and Froze lots of it. Maybe this weekend I will throw some together and freeze it.

Its Sunday Already!!!

I can't believe it is Sunday already. Tomorrow is a nice calm day with just a couple of kiddos. That will be nice. I like when I can spend a little more one on one time with them without having to neglect anyone else.
Mom is feeling pretty good. Yesterday we went to calling hours for my Brother in laws dad, he passed away Thurs. It was about an hour and half drive. Mom, Brother Brat, Sis, Mel, and Tinkerbell and I went in the van.
On the way home we stopped at Bob Evan's and had lunch. It was nice, lots of chatting, and visiting and catching up.
Today, Sunday, was kind of a lazy day. Sis brought The Princess over to visit. She is honestly so much fun. She is turning into quite a talker. Chats constantly. She is also kind of demanding sometimes. She knows what she wants and wants it now! Pease!!!
Then Sis In Law brought her sister and new baby A. over to visit. Little Miss A is only 3 weeks old, oh she is so pretty. It was nice visiting with all of them. The Punk also came with them.
The Punk and I decided that we were going to try to make the 3:30 matinee to go and see Paul Blartt, Mall Cop. It was really good I enjoyed it. The Punk liked it too and it was his second time seeing it. I loved watching him watch the movie, he sits right up on the front of the seat so he doesn't miss any of the action. He cracks me up.. oh to be 12.
Well as you can see my poor blog is still very plain. I just can not figure out how to change it. Trust me I have tried. I just can't figure it out.

Treadmill Here I Come

I am headed up to get on the Treadmill..I really need it after having Supper tonight. I love to cook, unfortunately I also like to eat. Tonight I took the leftover Roast and made really yummy beef and noodles. They were good.
Busy, Busy, day today.. The kiddos went outside for a few minutes. The Princess loved it, because she loves running. She looks so cute running in her little pink snowsuit.
We have a busy day tomorrow but don't worry I will find time to check in.
No kiddos.. I love the weekend.
Rocky is bugging me to go OUTSIDE!!!! he keeps sneezing, when he does that it is a hint to me that he needs out. ok.. gotta go, he is now sneezing and running in his block O formation. He is a buckeye dog for sure.

I hope everyone had a great week. Today the kiddos and I will be celebrating Valentines Day early. There are only 5 here, and The Princess(youngest niece) will be arriving soon.
We are going to have Heart Shaped Pizza from Papa Murphys, fresh veggies, and applesauce for lunch. The kiddos are excited. We will pass out the rest of the valentines, play find the hearts, talk about the letter V... for Valentine, and then it is my favorite
time of the day.. That's right! NAPTIME!!!!!!

Wow, What a 24 hours this has been!!!

Wow, The last 24 hours has me beat. We had a wicked wind storm last night made sleeping very difficult. Luckily everything is safe and sound here and there is just a small stream of water in the basement.
I woke up 1 hour and 20 minutes before alarm was supposed to go off. Apparently looked at clock wrong and thought it said 6 minutes before alarm. Imagine my shock when after showering, dressing, taking Rocky outside, making a cup of tea, firing up computer to enter blog land, that I realize it is only 5:24 in the morning. UGGGGHHHH!!!
Mom is starting new chemo next weekend as there was some growth in tumors. UGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
Kiddos were all keyed up today due to storm last night, and a few valentines with treats that were passed around today... I will be glad when it is warm and we can go outside.
Went to dinner with a couple of the boys, Tall and Skinny, and Chuck Dawg, Tall and Skinny's girlfriend, A.H. and my niece Jo. We went to our fave place Buffalo Wild Wings. Good Times.
I am off too bed now. Well I might hit the treadmill first I was proud of myself last night I managed to walk quickly for 22 minutes. This is a big deal for me. I love having the treadmill.
Alright, I am headed to the treadmill, then the shower , then to bed... Oh I hope I don't wake up early tomorrow morning.

I had a minute thought I would read posts, I am thinking I might go get the kiddies busy and we will make the cupcakes from Pioneer Woman Cooks. They sound Yummy.
Mom is actually feeling better today, figures since she goes to the doctor tomorrow and may start chemo again. I am hoping they give her another week off. She has been wanting to go to the Olive Garden for dinner and we haven't made it because she hasn't felt that great. Mostly tired.
Well Gotta Go, another Kiddie is on his way in the door.

It was definitely Monday!

Busy day, The kiddies kept me on my toes. Went out to Applebees with Big Joe, Chuck Dawg, and Tall and Skinny. We had a great time. We made a Walmart run afterwards. I haven't been to Walmart since Christmas. We needed a few things so it was worth the trip.
Watching the Bachelor, then hitting the treadmill for a few minutes and off to bed. Tomorrow is another really busy kiddie day.

Oh My Goodness!!!

I hope no one saw the mess I had on this blog this evening. I had the bright idea of customizing my blog. What a HUGE mess I had. Now it is just plain. Which is fine with me for now. I was having a horrible time.
I have been entering some more giveaways, people out there are terrific and give great stuff away.
Weekend was nice, Saturday took mom to Ollie's we didn't stay but a few minutes as she tires very quickly. Came home and Mel and I went to the Amish Bent and Dent store. Great buys on bread and the freezer is loaded. The store was packed. I was so surprised.
Sunday I haven't honestly done much. Cleaned the house, and cooked dinner.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. The weather is wonderful here.

Yeah its Friday!!

I am so thankful it is Friday. I am ready for a weekend. I hope everyone is doing well. Things are good here and I am hoping to get Gma out of the house tomorrow. She hasn't been going anywhere or really doing anything. Hopefully with the sun shining and a little warmer weather she will feel like getting out and about.
I hope everyone got signed up for the terrific giveaway on the Pioneer Woman Cooks Blog today. She was giving away 3 Kitchen Aid Mixers. Every cooks dream. You had a choice of Red, or Pink. Sweeet.....
By the way the beans turned out Superb. The slow cooker method didn't work out for me. I got impatient and put them in a pot on the stove for about an hour and then back in the slow cooker but they were delicious.

Up and Walking at 5:45 a.m

I was up and walking at 5:45 a.m. on the new treadmill. I am loving being able to get some exercise without freezing. Ohio weather doesn't make it easy to get outside to walk. The sidewalks are never clear enough and the roads are too busy. After walking, I had my mug of tea, and some McCanns Irish Oatmeal. Yummy breakfast. I am loving the McCanns Irish Oats. I can't find the Quaker Steel Cut Oats around here.
Supper is in the slow cooker, Soup Beans with carrots, onions, garlic and ham. I hope it is good I have never cooked my beans in the slow cooker before.
Ok, gotta go the Kiddies are keeping me busy today.

Its Here!!!!!

Its Here, Yeah!!!
I may not act as excited later, but the New Treadmill has arrived. It is huge, and heavy. Thank goodness 2 of "my boys" came over and carried the heavy part upstairs. Its not all put together yet, but hopefully my bro J. will be here to do that in the next day or so and then these feet will be walking. I need it and can't wait. My bro should be in business of putting things together, fixing things, He is just great.
I will let you know how the walking works out in a few days.
